🇩🇪 “Germany Didn’t Teach Me How to Travel… It Taught Me How to Live”

When people think about Germany, they probably imagine:beautiful castles, history, museums, architecture,Christmas markets,or perfectly organized cities.

And yes…Germany has all of that.

But honestly?

Germany didn’t change my life because of the places.

✨ Germany changed my life because of the people.

Germany taught me something I had never truly experienced before:

How beautiful life can feel when people genuinely know how to live it.

Not survive it.Not rush through it.

Actually live it.

🌿 Germany taught me how beautiful it is to wake up in the morning and walk into your own backyard garden to pick fresh fruits and vegetables for breakfast.

That may sound simple to some people…

But to me, it felt magical.

Everything felt intentional there.Natural.Peaceful.

People cooked from scratch.Sat together.Talked for hours.Enjoyed nature.Enjoyed silence.Enjoyed life.

And honestly?

I had never experienced that before.

✨ Germany taught me how to slow down.

How to breathe. How to relax. How to stop feeling pressured all the time.

It taught me that life doesn’t always have to feel rushed, loud, competitive, or exhausting.

🌱 And somehow, Germany also completely changed the way I saw food.

Before Germany, I honestly never imagined that a vegan lifestyle could feel so:

  • delicious,

  • fulfilling,

  • creative,

  • colorful,

  • comforting,

  • and exciting.

But Germany introduced me to an entirely different world of food.

✨ Fresh breads.Beautiful farmers' markets.Plant-based cafés. Organic ingredients.Gardens full of vegetables and fruits.Homemade meals made with love.

Everything felt healthier. Cleaner. More intentional.

And for the first time in my life, I realized that eating vegan was not about “missing out.”

🌿 It was about discovering how much more there actually is to experience.

Germany made healthy living feel joyful instead of restrictive.

And honestly?

That completely changed my perspective forever.

🌍 Germany also completely changed the way I saw people.

Growing up, I truly believed the warmth and hospitality I experienced in Mexico was something uniquely Mexican.

But Germany showed me another kind of warmth.

A quieter warmth.A deeper one.

The kind where people don’t just invite you into their homes…

🤍 They make you part of their lives.

And somehow, without even realizing it, Germany gave me my two best friends in the entire world.

Friends who live on the other side of the planet…yet somehow feel closer than people living next door.

Friends who became sisters.

Friends whose families became my family.

✨ One of the things that shocked me most was how incredibly welcoming everyone was.

I remember visiting one house…and somehow never even making it back there because every single person kept opening the doors to their homes.

“Stay here tonight.”“Come eat with us.”“You can sleep here.”

And what touched me most was this:

They never offered just “a little something.”

🌿 They offered everything they had.

And they did it with genuine joy.

No pressure. No pretending. No expectation.

Just kindness.

✨ Germany taught me that nothing is ever exactly how it seems from far away.

That there is always another way to live.

A softer way.A calmer way.A happier way.

Germany reminded me that life is not only about working endlessly.

There is nature to enjoy. Food to share.Conversations to have.Gardens to grow. People to love. Memories to build.

🤍 Germany gave me some of the best days of my life.

And honestly?

I know I will continue going back over and over again.

Because Germany became more than a destination to me.

It became a feeling.

A reminder that peace, friendship, and human connection still exist beautifully in this world.

🇩🇪 To my German family, my adopted grandmothers, and my 2 best friends…

Thank you for teaching me how beautiful life can truly be.

I love you endlessly.
